Redrob Signal is live

Redrob Signal is now live at signal.redrob.ai.

Signal is cricket, entertainment, news and markets, with the agent following along beside you rather than waiting to be asked. It is the fourth surface to run on the Redrob stack, and the first one nobody has to be looking for a job to want.

That is the point of it.

Why we built it

Everything Redrob had shipped until now answered a question about work. Job Search, Skill Tests and the employer-of-record desk are all things you use because something in your career needs to happen.

Work is a wonderful way to meet somebody and a poor way to keep them. The job ends, and on most platforms the relationship ends with it.

Signal exists to test whether the agent is worth opening on a day when nothing about your career is at stake. Not a new audience, not a new acquisition channel. The same people, asked a different question.

What ships

A live companion, not a feed. During a match, Signal follows the game and answers questions about it in the same thread. What the required rate is now, why that review went the way it did, who has the better record at this ground.

Four categories, one agent. Cricket, entertainment, news and markets share the same interface, so the thing you asked about the market at nine can be picked up again at eleven without re-explaining yourself.

Twelve Indian languages, including two at once. Signal reads code-mixed input the same way every other Redrob surface does. Nobody types commentary in formal English and we did not build as though they would.

What it costs to run

Nothing extra, which is the argument for building it at all.

Signal runs on the same models as every other surface. Adding a surface adds no inference cost, because the cost sits in the stack underneath and it was already paid for. That is why a company our size can afford to ship something whose first job is to be useful rather than to be billed for.

Signal is unmonetized for now. Anyone with a Redrob account already has it.
